About WellStanding
A compliance filing service for California public works subcontractors. We turn the payroll export you already run into the federal WH-347 and the California DIR eCPR filing, checked by software and verified by a person.
Jon Peters runs WellStanding and personally reviews every filing before it goes out. A person answers, and nothing goes out on autopilot.
What we are, and what we are not
WellStanding is a certified payroll filing service. We never process wages, touch taxes, or move money. We are not a payroll provider, a law firm, or a government agency. Your payroll stays exactly where it is, in QuickBooks, ADP, Paychex, Gusto, or Sage, and your public works registration stays in your name. We take the export that payroll already produces and turn it into the filings the job requires.
How a filing gets reviewed
Every file passes two checks. Software validates the structure and the arithmetic, including the format rules that make the DIR portal reject an upload over small details. Then a person reads the file against the project, the classifications, and the wage determination before anything is sent. For the California eCPR, the signature under penalty of perjury is yours by law, so the last step is a short review and sign that we walk you through the first time.
What we publish, on purpose
Our pricing is on the home page, in full. Almost nobody else in this market publishes theirs. Every legal figure on this site, from the $100 per worker per day records penalty to the monthly eCPR frequency rule, links to the statute, regulation, or agency page it comes from, and we correct anything a reader shows us is out of date. The awarding body and county pages are generated from public DIR project registrations, with the data date printed on the page.
Where we work and when we answer
California, statewide, for subcontractors in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, drywall, concrete, painting, roofing, fire protection, and framing, and for any other trade that files certified payroll on public works. Hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 to 5:00 Pacific. We reply the same business day.
How to start
Send one payroll export through the form on the home page. We reply the same business day, map your export once, and return your first weekly filing free, before you pay anything. See the output on your own project, then decide.
