New Jersey Wage Hub help: login, phone number, and registration number
This page collects what the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (NJDOL) publishes about Wage Hub help, from the Wage Hub FAQ, the contractor user guide, the Quick Reference page, and the Division contact page.

The short answer
Log in at njwages.nj.gov with a My New Jersey account. New Jersey's Department of Labor (NJDOL) publishes njwagehubinfo@dol.nj.gov for Wage Hub site questions and pwcr@dol.nj.gov for registration questions. As of November 4, 2026, NJDOL lists no phone line labeled for the Wage Hub, but it does list lines for public contracts, contractor registration, and general Division questions. The Reference ID is a 10-digit number emailed when you applied for registration.
- The contractor user guide, last updated March 6, 2026, says sign-up needs a 9-digit FEIN, a Contractor Registration number, and a Reference ID.
- The Reference ID is a unique 10-digit number a contractor receives by email when it submits a public works contractor registration application, per the Wage Hub FAQ.
- For Wage Hub site questions, the Wage Hub FAQ gives the email njwagehubinfo@dol.nj.gov.
- The Division contact page lists (609) 292-9464 for contractor registration inquiries, (609) 292-2259 for public contract inquiries, and (609) 292-2305 for general Division inquiries, with no line labeled for the Wage Hub as of November 4, 2026.
- The Quick Reference page says to send a signed letter on company letterhead to EmployerAccess@dol.nj.gov when the account administrator has left the company.
- A submitted payroll cannot be edited; the Wage Hub FAQ says to submit a corrected one, and the last one submitted for a week ending date is treated as the correct version.
Where do you log in?
Go to njwages.nj.gov. The contractor user guide (last updated March 6, 2026) says to click CONTRACTOR SIGN UP the first time and LOG IN after that, through a My New Jersey (myNJ) account.
If you have no myNJ account, the guide has you create one during sign-up, with a phone number for multifactor authentication. That number is not a help line. A July 17, 2024 NJDOL press release says the account must be registered with NJDOL's Employer Accounts Division. The guide does not repeat that, and NJDOL does not say what it means or whether it still applies. The guide publishes njwagehubinfo@dol.nj.gov for questions and comments about the site; NJDOL does not say that mailbox handles account-registration problems.
What do you need to sign up?
The guide lists a 9-digit FEIN, a Contractor Registration number, and a Contractor Registration Reference ID. The Reference ID is a unique 10-digit number emailed when you apply for public works contractor registration (PWCR). Per the Wage Hub FAQ, a new company must get PWCR first, and an NJ 927 is no longer needed. See our guides to PWCR and Wage Hub sign-up.
What is the registration number, and where do you find it?
The Wage Hub pages do not say where to find the Contractor Registration number. The registration FAQ says your PWCR certificate lists a Certificate Number, and NJDOL's list of registered contractors shows it. NJDOL does not state that this is the same field as the sign-up number, so do not assume it. Confirm which number to enter:
- Ask NJDOL. No NJDOL page says which office answers this. It publishes njwagehubinfo@dol.nj.gov for Wage Hub site questions, and pwcr@dol.nj.gov (add your certificate number) and (609) 292-9464 for registration questions, with office hours Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, excluding holidays, per the registration FAQ.
- Find your certificate or check your application. NJDOL emails the certificate to the business email, if given, and mails it. For a pending online application, the PWCR portal status check uses the confirmation number emailed when you applied.
The NJDOL pages read here give no procedure for recovering the Reference ID if that email is lost, and do not say whether it is the same as the application confirmation number. For corrections to your trade name, FEIN, certificate registration number, or business location, the guide says you can also contact pwcr@dol.nj.gov; its Part 6 sends errors in the prefilled payroll fields to njwagehubinfo@dol.nj.gov. For a subcontractor's number, use the registered contractors list linked from the Wage Hub FAQ.
Who can you contact, and is there a Wage Hub phone number?
| Contact | What NJDOL says it is for | Published on |
|---|---|---|
| njwagehubinfo@dol.nj.gov | Site questions, user removal, moving a payroll, wrong prefilled fields | FAQ, guide, Quick Reference page, login page |
| pwcr@dol.nj.gov | Registration questions; the guide also lists it for business-detail corrections | Guide, contact page, registration FAQ |
| (609) 292-9464 | Contractor registration inquiries | Contact page, registration FAQ |
| (609) 292-2259 | Public contract inquiries about prevailing wage rates | Contact page |
| (609) 292-2305 and wage.hour@dol.nj.gov | General Inquiries about Division services; not Wage Hub specific | Contact page |
| EmployerAccess@dol.nj.gov | A letter to change the account administrator | FAQ, Quick Reference page |
No Wage Hub phone line is labeled. As of November 4, 2026, the Wage Hub page, FAQ, Quick Reference page, guide, login page, and contact page label no number for the Wage Hub, and they point to email. The General Inquiries line, (609) 292-2305, is a Division line, and NJDOL does not say it takes Wage Hub calls.
Login and account problems
| Problem | What NJDOL says, and where |
|---|---|
| The site looks out of date | Log out and back in, or clear your browser cache (guide). |
| Your name or email is wrong | They sync from myNJ. Edit them under My Account there, then refresh or log back in (guide). |
| A user should be removed | Email NJDOL their name, title, email, and the reason. One user must always remain (guide). |
| The administrator has left | Send a letter on company letterhead to EmployerAccess@dol.nj.gov naming the old and new administrators and giving your company and EIN and your contact information, and saying whether the old one is removed or becomes a user. The owner, CEO, CFO, or power of attorney holder signs (FAQ, Quick Reference page). |
NJDOL's pages conflict on a few points; two affect support contacts. For user removal, the guide gives njwagehub@dol.nj.gov and the Quick Reference page gives njwagehubinfo@dol.nj.gov; use njwagehubinfo, as on the login page. The Quick Reference page is headed July 8, 2026, but the updates address still shows April 14, 2026 and lacks the administrator rule. Follow the Quick Reference page.
Errors when you add a project or submit a payroll
The NJDOL pages read here do not list Wage Hub error messages or fixes. These are the error-related items they do give.
| Situation | What NJDOL says, and where |
|---|---|
| The Add Project form shows errors | You cannot submit the contract while required fields contain errors. Invalid fields appear in red with helper text on how to correct them (guide). |
| An MW-562 or CSV upload shows errors | Review the prefilled data and update anything missing or invalid. A summary of invalid inputs and missing fields is shown for each step (guide). |
| A manual entry for a week with no work shows errors | The FAQ answers a user who left the employee area blank and saw errors: complete all fillable fields, then click the "No Work Week" box. |
| Editing a project shows an error | If you try to edit an existing project with no contract attached, the Quick Reference page says you get an error message that it cannot be edited without one. |
| Rules for submitting a payroll | The updates archive entry dated February 18, 2025 says you must include the occupational work classification field for each employee to submit a certified payroll, and reminds users with more than 10 employees to use the CSV upload instead of the PDF. |
| Before a CSV upload | Fill every cell, leave the template unedited, check long text fields for extra spaces, and enter times as HH:MM. Upload both files together; one at a time overrides the first (Quick Reference page). |
| Before a PDF upload | Use the current MW-562. The Quick Reference page's update note says a new version is dated 2/25 and the older 6/23 version is also compatible. The file behind its download button is footer-marked MW-562 (2/25). Its Tips for Uploading Files line calls a 6/23 file the "most current version," which does not match the update note, and that 6/23 link returned Page Not Found on November 4, 2026. Do not lock the file. |
| You cannot find the project | The guide says payroll can be added only once the project details exist in the Wage Hub, and that prime contractors and public bodies may add projects. The FAQ says that if the prime contractor does not register the project and/or the public body, you submit all certified payrolls to the public body as before the Wage Hub. It does not reconcile that with N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.29(b)(2) and (b)(3), which also require submission to NJDOL through its website. The FAQ also says the General Contractor and/or Public Body enters the project, so they are the ones to ask; that is our reading, not an NJDOL instruction. NJDOL publishes njwagehubinfo@dol.nj.gov for site questions but does not say it handles a project that no one has entered. The FAQ is NJDOL's position, not a substitute for the statute. |
The undated FAQ calls the contract upload optional, but the March 2026 guide calls it mandatory and the Quick Reference page says a project is not active without one. Follow the guide.
Did your payroll go through?
The Quick Reference page says NJDOL cannot manually confirm receipt of individual submissions, and that successfully submitted payrolls are listed in your dashboard. Before you conclude one is missing, check:
- The status filter. The dashboard shows Active projects by default. Clear the Status filter to see others.
- The tab. A prime contractor sees subcontractors' payrolls on the Subcontractor Submissions tab.
- Your email. Per the guide, each submission gets a unique confirmation number, also emailed to you.
Before you email NJDOL
Pick the address from the table above. The Division contact page warns against emailing personally identifiable information, such as a Social Security number, under its General Inquiries and Contractor Registration headings, and its definition includes names. It does not mention the Wage Hub mailbox, and the guide asks you to email a removed user's name, title, and email. NJDOL does not reconcile the two. Never send a Social Security number.
Does a login problem change the deadline?
The Prevailing Wage Act, as NJDOL publishes it, requires in N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.29(b)(2) that each payroll period's certified payroll be submitted to the public body and, through the department's website, to NJDOL within 10 days of the date wages were paid. The NJDOL pages read here do not say a portal problem pauses that clock. If you are past it, see our late payroll guide.
